What a great day to be at work working for normal c-appy Walmart pay! I hope no one was dumb enough to go to work today, if you did you should reevaluate what your prioritys are. What kind of company expects its entire workforce to work for normal pay on every major holiday?

LOL Christmas bonus, that was one of the first things they did away with like 15 years ago. Luckily? I'm grandfathered in as a 19 year employee and get a whole 75 bucks or something. No you get NOTHING for working days like thanksgiving, New Years, Christmas Eve. In addition there are serious repercussions if you dare to call in sick, a step per day at our DC, really great place to work... 👍
I used to work at a major retailer, before they closed my store down. We got paid holiday pay and time n half, if we worked on the holiday. I went to work at Wallyworld and got nothing for working the holiday. It is great that I have pto in just my little time at walmart, a little over 7 months. But something needs to be done for the workers? Do we get anything extra for our work? What about a Christmas Bonus. What are the benefits for being a Walmart Worker?
You could use it however you wanted before, plus you could build up a safety net of sick time just in case. Then they stole our sick time and went to PTO where we get nothing for working major holidays. If you think that's somehow better?then pushing carts at Walmart is the perfect career for you.
Paid time off is paid time off whether its sick, personal, vacation, or holiday. Now you can use it however you want to. I like how pto is now. I get more time off than I used too. But you just keep complaining while I'm enjoying my extra pay.
You only get more time because it's all lumped together now, sick/personal/holiday/vacation. We actually get less total time and on top of that they stole our accrued sick time. Why not just let your PTO all be cashed out at the end of the year if your gonna waste it "paying" yourself double time for holidays?
Umm that's what pto is for! I get over six weeks of pto a year. Before they changed it I got 4 weeks and only got paid time and 1/2 for holidays I worked. I'll gladly pay myself double time and still have plenty of vacation.
Oh wow burning PTO to get your double time! Way to go! If your burning your time your not really getting double time, your just wasting your vacation time...
Dont know about ya'll but I put in 8hrs holiday pto so I'm making double time today!!
Dude I'm with you. It should be law that major holidays are mandatory overtime pay. But it's not just Wallyworld, working on holidays is just a retail thing.
