I’m sure nobody is surprised, but I had to pause to post my LOL over the “new” name. How many billable hours do you suppose Enbridge’s ad agency spent coming up with that creative gem? I have to also laugh about how much spin was given to the “new business opportunities” the combined utility can pursue outside of gas, and how we needed to amalgamate to take advantage of all these exciting new opportunities.... then they give us a name and brand that firmly positions us as stagnant old dinosaurs waiting for the comet to hit. Someone please ask WTF at the Town Hall today.

Power generation to be sold to pay down more debt, s---er!
Wonder why the name doesn't include any mention of Power Operations. Is that part of our business?
At least they didn't name it after a cheap Korean car (Spectra)
Rumour going around that a slightly better name went to AM for approval, but he didn’t understand why the name shouldn’t have “gas” in it. Town Hall made me think that’s probably true.
What a joke. Any name with Enbridge in it brings very negative connotations. No wonder there’s such a brain drain at the company. It’s time for new, competent leadership and a new direction. Better decisions need to be made with input from those that know - not some useless, overpaid consulting firm. Start writing the board and demand change.
No one wanted to ask questions "live" at the UG Town Hall as a certain EVP's reputation has transcended the ranks. her.
The real question everyone wanted to ask was "How many UG employees are you planning to fire?"
Enbridge Gas = Enbridge Barf
What a colossal waste of money and time. You got to wonder how much Enbridge corporate paid to the marketing agency to come up with this name Enbridge Gas Inc. Employees could have held focus groups and come up with something far better like Enbridge Utilities.
Given Enbridge's tawdy brand reputation - there's a reason why they have an unflattering image- S---S, they could have picked something that would have distanced them from their sad sack reputation.
RIP 'Union Gas'
Un-"F"ing believable that they an only come up with that brand name !!!
I guess the id--ts think it's a shared name since they used the word "Gas" from Union.
Such conceit in this new name.
I'm sure our opportunities will just flourish with Enbridge in our new name.
Thank you to the person who asked about this at the Town Hall. The answer certainly provided a lot of insight on how Enbridge makes important decisions. Ugh!
Anyway, goodbye to the best President Enbridge never had. That was a very sad Town Hall.
all I can say is WOW!!
