Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Bad Decision After Bad Decision

I can not believe the board of directors haven't addressed the decisions being made at Enbridge. I have only been under the Enbridge influence since the 'merger' 18 months ago but am a long time employee. First, the leadership decide to outsource the Accounts Payable operation offshore - you know, that department that determines your data integrity and protects your audit liabilities. This has been a complete disaster and will cost the company and shareholders a heck of a lot more than is being saved. Secondly, the new ERP decision has been made - Oracle Cloud. Long time users of Oracle including long time Enbridge employees complain as how limited and difficult this system is. Rather than go with a Cadillac SAP system designed for high performing companies we will go with a very basic financial system much like a 1980 Ford Pinto. Of course Oracle will be cheaper...until you add all of the bolt on programs that will be needed and extra staff required to run them. Who's leading this ship Captain Smith? As a long term employee and a shareholder I can't believe wht's going on. I am a team player and would support any change for the better of the company. But these two decision examples and others are just plain wrong.

Oracle as an IT solution or any solution is a poor decision. We purchased an Oracle cloud solution and the company insisted on us signing a contract without giving us a trial. Once the contract was signed, we had a new account rep every month and in order to customize anything it cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Obviously no one did an indepth RFP, just an analysis of how much cheaper this solution would be. Outsourcing AP to Accenture was a colossal F-up. Wait till vendors start calling for cheques and no payment is forthcoming. I wish the EVPs would be made to answer these calls and deal with the frustrations ordinary employees need to deal with.

Outsource they believe it is cheaper.

Contact the OEB and ask why as an Ontario gas consumer is Enbridge contracting so many essential service work out?

The OEB came down on Enbridge in 2003 for just that. For slowly becoming a virtually gas company.

Ask if contracting huge areas of operation, they why?

If it is the idea of being performed more economical then tell why is the rates not being reviewed ?

It is not realistic saving in the long term.

Trust me I know.

Enbridge has and will ruin Uniongas and it’s reputation! Why do they keep outsourcing?
