Most office buildings are brand new in eastern Europe, to address the increasing demand for space. Corporate jobs were not that common 10-15 years ago in this part of the world

No, the money wasn’t wasted. CA has in Prague three buildings (only few floors in each) and only one of them (two floors in total) was renovated. It is highly probable that at least on building will remain occupied even after all layoffs. And what I’ve heard the Prague office will grow anyway. And labor market in Prague is really, really bad from employer perspective. Current unemployment ratio is below 2% and employee (especially in IT) are very picky, and to be honest why the hell not if you can choose from companies like Microsoft, IBM, Siemens, Oracle, SAP, ExxonMobil and many others. And to be honest CA offices are nice but it’s already getting a norm, no wow effect.

The interior design of CA’s new Prague office is based on the industrial design that refers to the factory buildings of the First Industrial Revolution

In memory of Ned Ludd.
