Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Our CEO SANDY IS AWESOME!

He is an incredible leader. Please give him chance. Most importantly, he is a man of integrity. I beleive in him. Work with him, and support his mission. Let's be optimistic for a change, let's think positive. I'm not a leader, I'm your fellow worker. I feel good about this man. Trust me as I am one to doubt everthing and everyone. Give him a chance, he is and will make changes for the better.

For the guy sticking up for Sandy, I call b@@l s@@t. The vagueries of getting laid off from a sales position are numerous. Sandy, as well as 0 managers I have talked to, have said, “ If you are doing a great job, you still may be laid off”. The only thing Sandy said, “ was stay out of the bottom 20%”.

Your place on the ranking with your co-workers will be affected by your managers inflating their favorite people’s sales figures. Many people who don’t have talent, are fraudulently being positioned to move on because they have relationships with RSDs, directors, and managers.

In fact, the staples sheeple have been told there is nothing to worry about by most of their direct managers. It is simply evil what these trashy middle managers are doing.

Prepare to go to battle and get whatever lawyer you can afford.

The Staples Story

Tom S had a great idea . Built a wonderful company. Many people benefitted.

Ron S did little to nothing to build upon the success . He basically ruined Staples . Less people benefitted .

SP will do less less than RS . Nobody will benefit , except them.

Staples gone someday .

Good or bad, Sandy is a plant by a PE firm that needs to make money on their investment. It's not like Staples is going to just close up shop one day and lay off 50,000 employees at once. This could take several years, and many people will continue to have jobs for several years...but many won't. Pieces will be sold off. Many employees will be thinned out for being too old / too expensive and the risk of that, especially for primary breadwinners should make people very afraid. Doesn't make Sandy a bad guy, in fact if he fools the people they want to keep on for as long as possible, it means he's a pretty effective hire.

I liked my job and enjoyed coming to work (other than for a mo--n manager who has somehow still survived), but the swinging ax was just too much of a risk.

That's right. He aint here to fix it all. Frankly people, stop complaining, your a-- isn't laid off, you're still employed, you're receiving a fat bonus once again, just shut up and do your work. If you don't like it, leave. No one stopping you.

some things can't be fixed.

even if Sandy was on the up-and-up, it would only prove he's a mo--n for taking on this hopeless mission. So he's a mo--n instead of a shtbag. I'm not sure that's an improvement.

If this coke failure is so good, why are there still the same a$$ kissing’ completely ineffective managers and directors still around in SBA?

These managers and DIRECTORS are way to busy making things up. The future forecast for sales is nothing more than garbage in - garbage out.

Heck, I would love to see someone like Sandy go through sales force and pick out a few posted “opportunities or won business”. Ride with directors to these accounts and see for himself in real time that it is all BS.

I started this trend, and I'm not Alex. Negative folks like you is the problem. Staples has been good to many, and now I see a decent leader standing before us. Either beleive in him or just stay miserable. Nothing is good enough for anyone. Beleive me, they are still terrible leaders that don't know nothing, and their leaders are just as stupid to keep them in their positions. It's so sad, I don't think those leaders care to make good on anything. Th ey run around talking the talk, lying and deceiving. Sandy is weeding them out, and he isn't done yet. I support Sandy but feel free to continue to talk smack. I bet you like the bonus coming your way though.

Seriously grow up. Sandy Douglas has been honest, forthcoming and is leading what he believes is the best people in the industry. Though a few are not...

That said, he has done everything to deserve respect and the support of his people.

From here on out, the only failure is from down up. So grow up.

This is hardly a qualified endorsement. Even if Sandy was a superstar w/one trick pony Coke, he now works for a vulture capitalist that has a dodgy commitment record and seems only interested in quick turnarounds or disposals. He could be fired tomorrow
