McKesson Corp. Chairman and CEO John Hammergren, who has come under fire for the company's role in the epidemic use of pr-scrip-ion opioid painkillers, will retire effective March 31.
Hammergren, whose $20.1 million total compensation last year made him the highest-paid Bay Area for-profit health care company boss, will be replaced as CEO by Brian Tyler, a 21-year veteran of the San Francisco-based health care products distributor's president and chief operating officer.
