Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

LTD leadership bench

It is shocking that for a 50000 employee organization, there is no leadership bench after SA and they had to pick MM out of semi-retirement to lead TD - MM has no expertise leading a large and complex development org like TD. Look under LTD top management layer and you will see again that there are no strong managers that have outside experience and understands the foundry competitive landscape. With the current leadership team, LTD has little hope and is dying a slow death.

Intel will be forced to move designs to TSMC and gradually spin off TMG.

One of the most important roles of BoD, CEO and senior managers is to develop a deep bench, nurture diverse talent for mutiple and diverse views.

In Intel’s BK reign and especially in TMG and SA’s case it was about purging anyone of talent that didn’t do exactly as he said without question. Anyone with a counter opinion was purged. Now you got a bunch of yes man without their micromanager king.

MM is a great guy but put him with AK and compare that to the Samsung or TSMC for TD and Manifacturing leadership and it is a laughable situation. TMG will fall further unless a real leader can be found.

10nm what a painful situation not likely to change with lack of any real change of leadership, and likely with the turmoil of it 7nm and 5 aren’t getting the focus and leadership they need sp downward spiral will continue, what a FUBAR

I got to belief the product guys got to be talking all the time about what the contingency plan is going to be, can’t continue to milk 14 as the world moves to 7 and 5, what confidence could they have in TMg delivering after the 10nm debacle
