I can't believe there is still over a hundred left. Wasn't there over 400 last vote?
All Altice technicians in the Outside Plant Department fall into four categories:
-
Complacent Veteran
-
Active Veteran
-
Hungry Rookie
-
Brainwashed Rookie
Complacent Veteran: Tech with over 20 years of tenure and making over $50/hr. They have a sense of entitlement, loyal to management and willfully accept special perks & bribes. They maintain a negative view of the union because they believe that it cannot benefit them in any way. This selfish attitude causes them to never publicly speak out against the company for fear of being blackballed. They remain in their comfort zone for as long as they can while continuing to earn top pay.
Active Veteran: Tech with over 10 years of tenure and making over $35/hr. They are open union supporters and are always a major threat to management because they have influence on junior technicians. They are often discriminated against by management and are still able to effectively do their job.
Hungry Rookie: Tech with over 5 years of tenure and making over $25/hr. They usually have a positive view of management. They are always eager to learn and eager to prove to management that they are worthy of their recent promotion. Also, they tend to have a very neutral view when it comes to unionizing. Management categorizes them as "on the fence" and makes sure that are always isolated from the "active veterans".
Brainwashed Rookie: Tech with short tenure in the company. They are inexperienced and are usually have passive attitudes. They are loyal to management and willingly accepts everything they're told whether right or wrong. They've been indoctrinated into a belief system that says unions are very bad and are given convincing examples of this... (situation with Spectrum and Local 3). Management tries to keep them content and will always show bias to them because it bolsters their agenda of keeping the depots union-free.
We don't need is, let them suffer the consequences of being at will employees. Like taking our on call
What’s wrong OSP techs ?????
