When I am asked by anyone where I work I definitely do not say sears, only if I'm applying for another career and want to provide an answer to: why are you leaving your current job? Answer cause sears is in Bankruptcy and it's short term future is very unstable. Other than that I just tell people I'm an authorized contractor working for all companies that sell appliances and I work for A&E Factory Service.

Oh no I'm not ashamed to be getting great pay and commission, I'm ashamed to say I work for sears cause then customers don't want to buy any additional services so that I can make extra commission. Sears screws people over even worse than when there in stores, while they set up home service calls, or try to get replacement appliances under their current warranty, only to be placed on hold for an hr then hung up on. I don't give a damn about sears, I just wanna get free money. Wouldn't you if you could? Fired? Lol you gotta do some pretty bad stuff to be fired. Well, that is if your liked! Cheers
You're ashamed? You've got a perfect out, because if they fire you, you can say YOU left, because of their company turmoil, and you wanted to go to a place with stability, like such-and-such.
OP. If your self worth is based solely on where you work, then you’ve bigger problems than just working at Sears
LoL sounds about right, our management does the same sh-- to us and don't care if you can fix anything all that matters is if you sell. Manager gets a cut of our cut with commission
Illegal? Lol when your a tech at Sears repair services every day is unethical if you truly do like they want you to do. It's kinda fun for me though cause I piss people off all day long. Oh the paint is coming off your oven? Yea that's not covered under your warranty that you paid 800$ for. Which after then they just throw you out of the house and you never have to worry about going back ever again. The customer will call to ensure this lol. Problem solved. If they buy something from you treat em like gold for the 25 mins your in their home then roll out.
