I worked for MetricStream for about 10 years. Had good visibility about my work from my team up to top management. I never thought that politics can play major role in the job and that make me to get fired. Since i was thinking my job is always secured i never focused on looking at how the technology growth outside of MetricStream and try to analyze my skill set. Once i came out of MetricStream i understood that what is reality. I can only advice to the employees who completed 5 years and working above five years at MetricStream, remember that you are getting habit for MetricStream work which will not help you to get a job (specifically if you are working in PL/SQL, CORD, Cloud, IT). Please attend interviews, self assess and decide yourself that whether you are matching to the current technology for the market. Please do this and save your family, save yourself from depression. Think once, should you really work for the company which is depend on quarterly revenue, you work any where you will get salary. If MetricStream using the advanced technologies then there won't be any worries, all problem is it is too old technology in any team you take. You are not doing social service, remember in the current MetricStream financial situation they don't know when they layoff employees again. Be active in assessing yourself and talk to families and leave the company if you think my advice is right.

The previous reply was posted by a lady who was working as QA head and concentrated on only one project. Taking leave on Fridays and work from home Mondays. Realise your mistake first before blaming organisation. BTW I quit MS for a better opportunity and if people want to abuse me for being pro MS be my guest..
I worked in QA for 10+ years and I too got fired. It took 8 months for me to get the job. No other company works on QA process and tools used by MetricStream.
