Thread regarding Sears layoffs

There could have been a different path

I know that at this point it's easy to say that it would have been better if things were done another way. I don’t want to sound pretentious, much less sentimental, but this article just pointed out that there were many different paths in which Sears could have survived. Our leaders chose the only one that led to the demise of Sears.

The biggest single mistake was when Kmart bought Sears. Sears survived this long by s---ing km’s cash flow.

Kmart had a webpage on Prodigy... but Sears was a co-creator/co-owner of Prodigy, with IBM!

I was a user of kmarts free prodigy internet portal back when it meant something and saved me money. If only they would have expanded on that back in the day.
