With all this news of our possible demise we were just called that we are going to a new cash system..Cummins? January 5 we will be getting new machines etc? That isn't a sign of a company that's closing in my opinion. When the supervisor asked are we still gonna be open the woman changed the subject. Hmmm. Thoughts?

They cant hook them up in many stores because of the outdated computers. It is not a POS system it is a counting machine. We had one and the guy who tried to hook it up needed a CD drive for the discs and we did not have one. Then he tried to do it over Wifi and we didnt have that. Then he tried having someone send it over some sort of cable from his laptop to the computer but the computer did not have the proper hook up. So he spent around six hours in our store, drove from 4 hours away and had to drive back 4 hours and the machine still sits in our cash office.
The Cummins system is NOT a POS cash Register system, is a fancy coin counter. Some Kmart store had them and when they close, the system gets sent to open stores that are high cash volume. Honestly we got one 3 months before we were announced. The closing store sent it in a flemsy box that was destroyed by ups. Half the pieces were missing and it sat on the office floor until we had to clean out the office the two weeks after we closed to the public. We boxed it up and sent it on to the next store. I promise it’s nothing amazing, actually it was a lot of money in shipping for the heavy thing for something that looked like it was 10+ years old and missing parts.
HE accounting and finance doesn't have its act together anymore. They can't even pull their numbers together for court hearings scheduled weeks in advance.
Nice machines but the Sears computer system and in store computers cant hook up to them
Liquidators got fancier stuff than Sears.
Cummins-Allison check, money & coin counters to help count everything that can be found in nooks & crannies or under the floorboards
Haven't heard any news of new registers here in California
