Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Voluntarily Left ADP

After 15 years, I decided to leave ADP. I was a remote EE, had a pension, and my salary was fair. Normally, those are good things, but at today's ADP those are 3 strikes against me.

My area has not been touched by layoffs yet, but some people are now being asked to train overseas resources to "supplement" our staff and we are being asked to document everything. The handwriting is on the wall in big capital letters. I expect remote EEs will be getting some bad news at the end of fiscal 19, with the rest sometime in fiscal 20.

I've seen so many of our tenured EEs and subject matter experts pushed out through layoffs, VERP (many didn't feel it was voluntary), and just getting frustrated and leaving. Many of them have taken their expertise to competitors. I understand the need to control labor costs, but I've never heard of company being successful with this type of staffing philosophy.

I actually feel bad for the entry level EEs that are being hired into the new ADP centers. They are being asked to do a difficult job with little experience for little money. They have fewer SMEs to support them, when dealing with irate customers. Many of my clients refuse to work with anyone from El Paso. Lots of frustrated people on both sides. Sad.

I was lucky and found a great opportunity. I worry that many of my former coworkers will not be so fortunate.

At one point, I thought I would retire from ADP, but that was before Carlos and his new team of execs with "Global" in their titles decided to operate with ZERO transparency and keep the entire company in the dark. I've never seen an EE base treated with such cruelty.

ADP EEs have no voice anymore, and they're not going to unless something big happens. I've seen white collar unions gain popularity in some industries. That might be the only way ADP EEs can do anything to protect themselves, and to get a voice at the table. Good luck.

Excellent post and on point, joined ADP in 1980, took the ERP as is was originally named before Legal revised it to VERP. Most grateful for the opportunity and once was a proud employee. 2004 there was s shift in the paridymn were those aquired through acquisitions came into power, diluted the core company values resulting in what exists today, no respect given to Associates and NOT My ADP.

Spread the word. Only ee's who see value in themselves will have the bolls to walk out!
