Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

There’s nothing they can do to save UoP or add value to it

UoP is a sinking ship. There’s nothing they can do to save it or add value. I actually loved working there until I got more and more work, less appreciation, and worked for a Director who had NO business being in a leadership position. She singlehandedly drove our department into the ground.

I told management for months how overwhelmed I was and always offered some suggestions on ways we could make our position more efficient. All suggestions were met with excuses of why we couldn’t do that.

Now that I work at another university, I’m blessed to see that things at UoP are in a downward spiral. I’m just glad for the good times I had there and the new position I have now.

Thought this truthful post by @WL1P2o0-xeh was worth reposting.

They used to be the only game in town, not any more. The problem is they never got better or adapted. Old leaders stayed with their old ways. They never listened to the front lines. And well.....here we are. Slowly bleeding to death.

For profit Universities everywhere are in meltdown. Part of the college subprime loan crisis. It was a depression 18 years ago, enrollment is down everywhere, and interest rates going up really aren't helping things.
