Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Men will be the target

The company has diversity and financial goals to meet. If your peers are women and especially non-white women you will be the first to be shown the door. They get two birds with one stone. Cost savings and an instant boost in diversity ratio. So much for actually looking at your skill level. There is nothing wrong with women in management - i prefer to report to work for a woman - but to ax people based on a diversity goal is just insane.

You talk about "Diversity" with such open disdain, but we work very hard to be a non-discriminatory workplace. Copy and pasted this from glassdoor, a list of awards we've won in just the last two years. Note we're also on the list for 100 best companies for women to work in India, which is a strawman you keep on alluding to. It's your own brand of xenophobia and undisguised racism that you find others a threat because of your feelings of inferiority and actual incompetence because you know your job justifiably is at risk due to the fact that the revenue you bring in cannot justify your cost and your apparent mental instability.

I do not care if you are male, female, black, white, asian, latin, g-- or straight.

I just want to work with people who believe in doing their share of the workload.

Not people who think as long as they show up and spend 8 to 9 hours in the office, they are

doing their job.

State street women are disgusting. They usually wind up old and single and shopping at the office for a husband by age 45.

Sure, they got promoted, but most are single and miserable.

State Street is the absolute worst. Their diversity goals are a joke as is the company’s “leadership”

Don't confuse salary discrimination with diversity. The gender and race discrimination salary gap is real without the performance metrics to justify it. If you bring in performance in line with pay, well, it tends to increase the ratio of certain minorities. These posts constantly blaming non performance based issues suggests that your own numbers are c-ap. If your job is so easily exported to India, what you were doing wasn't justifying the cost of your salary in the first place.

This poster is correct -- I was a managing director in Find Admin and they want a 35% diverse (non-white) managing director population. Even being female isn't enough--- they want the non-white %s to go way up in 2019.
