Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

The dispute with Apple- Is Q playing with fire?

Q may have won the battle, but the outcome of the war is still pretty much uncertain. My take on this whole situation that the legal battle with Apple was unnecessary and that it has the potential to cause more damage than good. The stakes have been raised as the German court granted Q’s request to ban the sales of some models on iPhones before the appeal process is finished, but simultaneously obligating Q to pay all the potential losses that Apple will suffer from this ban if the ban is overturned in the appeal process. No doubt that’s a dangerous situation and the logical question that comes to mind is” Is it worth it?”.

Apple is finally getting the taste of its own medicine. Qualcomm will not be another Apple roadkill in its journey to wherever it thinks it is going. Most smaller suppliers have no other option than to yield into Apple's unreasonable demands. Well they certainly want to see Qualcomm destroyed. Big corporations need a counterbalance to keep them in check just like the government.

Apple will never buy from QC again that is the end of the story, we know SM is begging Apple to come back and the latest info is that they will settle but the reality is different

Qualcomm is not playing anything. Apple is trying to kill qualcomm, using government forces. Qualcomm really has no choice. If government and judge Koh kill Qualcomm, then so be it. At least Qualcomm resisted.

Apple is the single worst actor in the IP wars, and always have been. They tried to throw their weight around when they had no patents to speak of. When they acquired a modest few, they refused to cross license and instead sued everyone under the sun. This has been their MO since they came out with the iphone.
