Retirees supplemental Cost

What do you retirees think of Marathon doing away with supplemental benefits for Medicare starting in 2021?

No, MRO did NOT get all the retiree ‘benefits’ (think obligations was writer’s intent in post of a year ago). MRO is just reneging on its deal. I plan to go to the annual meeting and make my feelings known.

Thanks marathon after all the years I worked for you giving 110% everyday. Now you’re taking 100% away from us. So typical of corporate America. Screw the retirees.

This is absolute b---s--- My mom, in her late 80’s, recently went to an assisted living facility. Due to Marathon’s GREED, she will have to pay all of her Medicare costs out of pocket starting in 2021. They can pay the presidents and the higher-ups tens of millions of dollars, but screw the little gal who devoted over 40 years of her life to the company. To hell with loyalty, right?!?! They were giving her a little over $1900 a year. Real bank breaker. Gee, you would think that their $3 a gallon gas prices would bring in a few bucks extra for them.

Really not much of a surprise. This is a company that has suffered under two horrific presidents who have done little except line their own pockets while ruining value. The readily apparent feature that binds them together is that they are short and fat. The hidden feature that binds them together is that they are sociopaths scheming for their own gain at the expense of all.

This is spot on and MRO has blatantly age discriminated for years!

So you're saying they also cut the benefits of the downstream/midstream people. I'm sure that retiree population is higher than the upstream. If they didn't get cut, why not?

It’s terrible, it’s like walking on a contract. But the problem is MRO got all the retiree benefits at the split, quite a burden.

I think it S---S big time! All I can say if this is how they take care of their retired folks, younger workers need to pay attention because it can happen to you just that easy.
