Thread regarding Atos layoffs

Atos asking for all NAO employees take two unpaid days

Atos NAO has asked, no, begged for NAO employees to take two unpaid days before the end of the year (2018). If a person had to work Christmas or New Year ’s Eve they should do so for free. Persons with PTO booked should turn in two days and take unpaid leave. If not everyone doesn't do this then other actions are threatened. Things like no bonuses, roll back of merit increases, layoffs and forced furloughs. There is a mention of a significant financial issue but management is not saying what that is.

Annual furloughs, mass layoffs and constant grind to push north America well paid jobs to overseas resources. But the precious Europeans never have to take a hit, they are union and protected. If you're not in Europe don't work for this company. They do not care about global employees at all.

Update: Fast forward to August 2020 and now all US based employees forced to take one week furlough. This just a few weeks after they laid off several key contributors.

You would think if the company was in such a bind they would stop buying new companies every year. Syntel buy was almost 4 Billion...

The email states that the likely next step if they don't get enough "volunteers" to work two unpaid days would be 50% of staff taking a weeklong furlough next week.
