What do we get in severance if we are lucky and get laid off in Jan 2019? Can we ask to get laid off? I'm ready, so ready. Lay me off please!

Whatever you do. Don’t count on a good severance. Many will go without
depends on your department... previous layoffs have been 2 weeks for every year, but there are others who have received more.
it would be mostly my pleasure to leave but alas it is not possible SP has my family hostage, I must continue to do the needful.
