Good referrals are a thing of the past. Companies rarely give them...afraid of being sued. They just confirm that you worked there and when you left. My HR dept told me I am not allowed to give out info...all calls have to go to HR.
I am starting to hear that this is becoming the norm currently,. Sad thing it is
If you have any significant time in your position, why would you do something like that and destroy any chances of a good referral in the future? That is the problem with this country of self centered, narcissistic individuals: No one thinks of others - it's all ME ME ME. When a company takes a chance and hires you, it's only right that you follow the out-processing procedures and give that company the proper two weeks notice to allow them time to replace you. It's about doing what is right.
