I honestly didn’t even notice until the very end, but CH was not at the Chatham Holiday Lunch. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume there was a good reason?

All recent past Presidents including SB were not instantly loved... but they also didn’t do anything particularly revolutionary to earn trust... they just acted decent and friendly. Not hard.
I think CH missed taking lessons from Miss Manners. If we see her in Chatham she's taking the back staircase to avoid people. Always looks at employees as if they are a piece of gum to be sc-apped off her shoe.
An entire PR team cannot change fundamental flaws. If you're not considered an asset to help her look good, why should she bother spend a moment with you out of courtesy.
I think CH needs handlers who can help her with her own PR, because she seems to be acting from a “how to repel and turn a happy employee base against you” handbook ATM. She’s not to blame for the uncertainty everyone is trying to cope with, but she doesn’t help when she chooses not to share a meal and happy festivities with 800+ employees who are entering the holiday season worried about their jobs. Saying an investor thing was more important underscores the problem.
Re: Investor Week... oh right, I’m sure they couldn’t secure and exclusive location like the Bradley Centre in Chatham on a date CH could have made it.
Missed opportunity with 800+ employees.
Well said. Enbridge leaders may have money but their poor behaviour and lack of manners are decidedly low class.
Enbridge investor days were in New York this last week. That is why she was absent.
I've heard stories from a half a dozen people in Chatham who saw her in the hall or cafeteria and tried to say hi and were completely ignored. Not in a "sorry, I'm on my way to a meeting and can't chat now" way.... in an outright ignore and scowl way. CLassic Enbridge...they'll spend thousands of dollars on a fancy "welcome to the company package with temporary WE tattoos" and CareerScapes and iniatives to foster recognition and a positive culture ...but the leaders can't even muster a smile or a hello, undoing all of the effort in a second.
Until the end of the year SB is still president. I think it was a good call for her to not participate and allow SB lead the last ever official UG event. Her presence would have soured the event and made it a real downer.
She's simply not comfortable and socially awkward. She considers Chatham to be a backwater as it doesn't have Uber and no one kisses up to her. Fawning admirers were not in the crowd and no one will ever give her a standing ovation like SB received. JS was on stage and I'm sure he will be reporting back to CH about the reception. Too bad there were no tomatoes.
She doesn’t want to fraternize with employees who will soon be cut. Too uncomfortable and not worth her time. The others on ELT are the same.
Ummm its simple. She doesn't like people. Except those that s--- up to her.
