Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Dear Mr. Sanjay Mehrotra

Nice reviews and major decline in your approval rating as CEO:

Click on "Rating Trends".

In 2016 the CEO approval was around 90%. Now in 2018 you are at 68% and tanking! Pat yourself on the back! You make Boise proud to have you here!

The Indian CEO and his cronies are the reasons behind all these sufferings. He hired his godddammm man from the same village. Non-discriminative hiring? That’s a big lie! Just count how many Indians under the CEO vs non-Indian? See yourself. Disgusting liar!

CEO's rating now is at 51 percent! Pat yourself on the back Sanjay as the community is proud to have you here!!!

Since your rating is going down like many others, how about you take the severance package for poor performance?

To the tech that loves his job....... Good for you, my friend! All of us that work here or have worked hoped at one time at least that we could find something we loved to do and get paid for it as well. It's not for everyone, and most will be laid off at some point because the Tech business is just like that. It doesn't mean anyone needs to be treated badly anytime and the less skilled you are the more likely you will be leaving. Merry Christmas to you and your family. How wonderful it its to provide for your family in an honest job doing something you love. Pass that philosophy on to your children so they learn to be productive citizens as well. I wish I could have worked with more people like you when I was there, but I have gladly retired.

“Micron destroys lives and you have to be on medication just to show up and deal with the stress.” “Is this the worthless no good for nothing Sanjay Mehrotra?”

You both are obviously very ANGRY... Yes, I really do like my job and have for over 20 years. Again like I stated, I know my time is coming too but I choose to be positive. I choose to set myself up financially, so when it happens, I’m OK and my family will be OK. This type of stuff happens with all semi conductor businesses. HP does the same thing! So maybe it’s better to try to be positive and thankful for what you have at the moment and choose to live within your means, maybe you’ll come back out of it better. The management I’m talking about is my immediate management, not the upper that’s extremely over weighted with VPs and Directors. Even when Appleton was here, we still had layoffs that devastated a lot of people. I don’t come to work thinking about myself, I come to work thinking about providing for my family and doing what I need to do to keep my job until the very end and Doing the best job that I can for the company, as that’s what I’m paid to do. I don’t know when my end will be, but being in my 50s I’m sure I’m getting close. Do I like it, NO... but I still love my job!! Micron has provided me with 20 years of good paychecks/ health insurance and free education, so that I can provide for my family. So yes, I’m very thankful for my job!

This site was intended for rumors of layoffs and changes coming down the pike, to help give people a heads up on what was coming. It wasn’t to bash other people. I don’t like the changes either but there’s nothing I can do about it. So I might as well be positive and do the best job that I can while I have time at my job and set myself up....

"I sure as hell do! I love my job and enjoy the people and management I work with!"

Is this the worthless no good for nothing Sanjay Mehrotra? The people are great, but the management totally s---s! No one can be forced to give one and twos for ratings. The very people doing it are the ones who needs to leave. Just showing up to the place and dealing with all the politics should get a 3 rating alone. Driving in on the interstate, when I start to climb the hill about a mile from the exit, I start to fill sick. Even on days that I do not have to work going by that place takes its toll on me.

"Not everyone is unhappy!"

First person I have ever heard say this with the new management. Micron destroys lives and you have to be on medication just to show up and deal with the stress. Sounds like you have a QA job, stress free, just show up and collect your paycheck. Yep there are some good jobs out there, but your groups time is coming. There are places to work in this valley which you can retire from, you just will not make as much money but the lower stress will save you money in the long run. It will also add years to your life.

Micron can go screw themselves. I was smart and got the hell out years ago. I did not get no severance but I have a better job, better benefits, and a life now. Don't get caught up in this food on the table BS. You are disposable, worried, and that is why you are here posting on this website.

If micron is so great, then why are you here? Does it put food on the table worrying about losing your job? It is already gone dude, good luck to you...

Show up to a layoff site and tell everyone how happy you are? There is just no way!

@ WBzcnyx-6qcv, No, I’m a tech and I actually really love my job... This has been the best job I’ve ever had. I realize some day my time will be up to, but that’s the same risk with any job... The difference is, I choose to be grateful for what I have. I choose not to live outside my means, and not be in debt. I’m grateful for my 20+yrs, and I do work for an awesome group. I’m extremely happy with Micron. Not everyone is unhappy!

You sound like the generic "5" answers on Glassdoor reviews (management).

I sure as hell do! I love my job and enjoy the people and management I work with! Are things in life always perfect... probably not but with Over 20yrs, and still thanking God for such a blessed job that pays the bills, put food on my table for me and my family, etc. Instead of always looking at the Neg, try being thankful for what you do have in life. Trust me, it could be worse....

This is the reason why every Micron employee needs to submit a review on glassdoor.com. Imagine someone moving their family here to work at Micron only to become very miserable. Is there anyone who enjoys working out there anymore?

The Glassdoor ratings should be much lower. If you look through the reviews, there are many "bogus" 5 out of 5 ratings obviously planted by the company to prop up the percentages. They are easy to find. The wording is brief, generic and unrealistic.

Another "Big Shot" CEO comes to a Boise company accomplishes nothing and will leave in the not too distant future with a huge financial package to go on to something else; and the stock continues to crash.
