Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

was QCOM better off if it was merged with BRCM

just a comparison of stock gains of both companies surely gives hint,

but it would have resulted in making Apple more friendly i guess

What else?

Hock Tan and the new AVAGO is a sh--hole to work for. The old BRCM was basically like Qualcomm. When Hock moves in...all jobs go to Singapore and whoever pays him off.

Directors with 3 or 4 staff; how can that be anything other that wasteful title inflation ?

How about the directors who report to directors ? Really ? Who's directing who ?

I see lots of PPTs and multitabbed XLS direction; but not a whole lotta real work any more.

Innovation ? Long since left the room.

Hock Tan please please please come back, we want you.

Hock wouldn't offer close to $80/share now. Maybe half that? Execs and incompetents remain while much talent is gone. The value of the company is greatly decreased. Especially with how lawsuits are going.

Removing all of the redundant, and unnecessary, layers of management would have done wonders for cost and morale. All I saw purged during last summer's layoff was worker bees. I'm guessing some departments have 1 manager for every 2 workers now. A bad manager can handle 20 people...

The biggest plus would have been the executive level purge. No future with current team
