In a thriving, growing company that would be true. That's not the case here. You're delusional. I've watched many hard-working, competent and well liked employees get the ax. They're cutting costs to make the overall package cheap enough for a new buyer to want. Headcount is always the most expensive. Cutting big salaries / incentive plans / benefits from payroll gets that done.
