A deal has definitely been signed. I don't know the details but everything was signed about two weeks ago. GE managed the minority ownership. I don't know about the combination of Cybersecurity. An announcement should be happening soon. I think it premature to say anything positive or negative. I have been given strong positive language by my leadership and, barring any other information, am optimistic.

You are assuming the acting CIO and other GE leadership will make smart and common sense decisions. I worked for TSO, GIS, ISS, and Coretech over 17 years and can tell you that if you expect common sense to win out, you must be a newer employee that still lives in fantasy land and loves to drink GE Kool-Aid!
Very skeptical if this will happen anytime soon - too much chaos in the businesses for major change in shared services IT. The complexity is at a record high in IT across DT and infrastructure. Divestitures going on, large migrations and reconciling technical debt, user NPS is up and they want to keep it that way, etc. I really can't see how this will happen. I suspect our new acting CIO will defer this for a while.
Now moves in Digital as far as former Predix products, etc - I see a deal happening - but not in DT/CT/Risk

The reason that I doubt it will be a classic outsource is because the outsourcing must be applied to something of value. CoreTech doesn't have any products of value. That's why it's recent meetings have all been about product development and management. If there are no valuable products, then the people are the only valuable thing, and it makes no sense to do an acquihire then lose everyone, unless the acquihire is basically free, but GE wouldn't do that when the option to put people back into verticals exists.

Not at all. I'm happy with my decision to come here, the prospect of a new company is more valuable than stability. For others, if they have offers on the table, I would recommend they take those. Taking a job and having it blow up in six months s---s. It's not a "great" opportunity. It's just an opportunity that may or may not pan out.

I agree that hiring talent is hard with all of the uncertainty. I never said they're being overly SUCCESSFUL with the process. I only mentioned it to evince what appears to be confidence in the company's direction. I also don't think our roles will be in competition with offshore shops. After the immense amount of wasted money on offshore shops in the first era of GED, I've heard nothing but a desire to stick with local talent and to wind down all contractors. I don't think I'm being overly optimistic when I say that everything will be stable for the next fiscal year. After that, I don't know. Everything might explode. That reality will become apparent over the next twelve months.

What quality talent would come work here in this state? I appreciate your Pollyanna viewpoint and wish your positive thoughts were true. We will all be working for some cheap a-- third tier supplier soon. They won’t pay old school GE high salaries. At old GE, our salaries were rounding errors compared to two jet Jeff and all his layers of people making bank. In India we are paid like kings. Won’t last.
I made the original post. I don't THINK we're just going to be some internal division with BH or anything like that. I know we're making our own collateral, and that only makes sense with the original plan of a standalone company. I also haven't heard anything about cyber security, which makes me doubtful that a combo entity is happening. It's probably just going to be Coretech. I hope that's not true, because I think CT and CS are a good match. Never the less, we're going to learn all the details soon. I also remain confident in the short term at least since the company is working overtime to hire quality talent, explicitly for the sake of increasing organization value.
Don’t think GED will move to BHGE. They just announced an agreement yesterday to remain the exclusive partner in O&G. Why would they do it?
I heard that coretech is moving to BHGE as per new agreement. BHGE wants to leverage the coretech products as its doing now.
