How students are treated

To some at Ai, students are just a number, dollar sign or statistic to others they’re people who are interesting to get to know. We wish students well but they have to look out for themselves. If you’re a student who received a notice your debt to earning ratio is ridiculous, find another school. If you’re a student and have heard academic accreditation is in jeopardy why are you still here, why not find another school? If you’re a student in class and realize it’s a joke, why do you keep coming back for more jocularity? If you can’t look out for yourself “schools” like Ai, AU, South will take your money and give you squat in return. It has nothing to do with how much employees might like you or want you to have your best life, DCEH schools have a purpose but they are not for everyone. If you have higher than an 1.0 gpa or have passed the SAT or ACT apply at a “real” college. Get off your asses and quit being lazy a-- sloths. And we’ll miss you. Good luck in you degree completion and job search.

Written in a stronger language then I would use personally, but this post generally tells the truth. OP by @W7HAwIR-1yqu

Wake up call was heard, but students hit the snooze button.

For the past month all students have been talking about is “show cause” and “transferring while AiP is still accredited.” Now that there is a 3 month extension for the accreditation decision they’re saying, “I’ll just stick with it, take more courses, it’ll all be just fine.”

Ethics, integrity and governance are not areas AiP has any control, these are issues with DCEH that cannot be fixed (or hidden) locally.

Hopefully students are hearing the resounding wake up call. Admissions, academic counselors and faculty have no control and zero input into how the DCEH schools are run. Staff at AU, Ai, and SU would enjoy working with students who wanted an education more than just an easy degree. Standards are dropped to improve admission and retention rates because staff are told to by administrators. Administrators do not have control either, they are given directives by DCEH corporate on the numbers they’re expected to achieve, they do little more than apply metrics and micromanage employees.

In case you missed the wake up call, there is little if any professional potential for you and no continuing educational potential with a degree from Ai if there is no accreditation. There is no personal financial future for you if you graduate from a program with a high debt to earning ratio and does not meet Federal Gainful Employment guidelines.

Former students on the I Am Ai Facebook page can share their problems buying homes, cars, even getting married because of their debt and inability to pay it off. Some can’t even get transcripts anymore because the school is closed.

It does not matter how many classes you have taken or if you think you are graduating soon, if you school is currently accredited do whatever it takes to get into another school while your credits will transfer.

If you have to stay in an online school, there’s is no shortage of them, you may have to change majors, but that will be much better than spending and more time or money on a worthless degree.

You only get good students by treating employees well. DCEH wants to create a unified “One University”, but all I see is a toxic swamp. I stopped caring after leading my departments KPI’s and creating a great student experience only to be told that “your pay is being reduced”. I give DCEH 1-2 years and it’s gone ... and so am I.

If administration cared about students, they would stick with a core set of full-time faculty and that's that. Students: Either graduate before accreditation is revoked or start a degree program somewhere else before all you have left to instruct you is the janitor. What?? He's gone too??
