Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

SEC to drop Qualcomm SoC and MDM

Heard it through the tech grapevine this weekend.

Does anyone know what "SEC" means? I thought Securities and exchange commission but that doesn't make sense.

Any insight would be helpful.

Hock Tan, please come back. $82 significantly overvalues qcom price, will sell immediately and cancel the CIC.

QCT already outsourced some the mixed signal IPs to Samsung, it was a stuipd move. But the internal team is too imcompetent to deliver anything.

This is big news/rumor but we need to know for which product line. May not be bad as Q have diversified portfolio but if it is on a flagship product, Q could be hosed

Game over for Q when (and certainly not "if") SEC drops Q chips in their flagship products. Another round of major layoffs is inevitable. And perhaps even lead to an undesirable acquisition in a fire sale

oh wow! If Samsung bails on Qualcomm there won't be many customers left. How will Qualcomm survive?

SEC would be Samsung Electronic Corp.

Not sure of the rumor but they have been planning for this for some time.
