I'm currently more worried about possible demotions and pay cuts than layoffs, to be honest. I'm thinking once everybody they wanted out is out, there might be some serious restructuring in positions and pay grades.
Do we know if this is a possibility or am I worrying for no reason?

Your title may change but don't consider it a demotion. The org chart at Broadcom has many fewer levels than at CA.
Broadcom has a different set of bands. A lot flatter than CA so it stands to reason there are less VPs and more Directors.
It has been stated many times that nobody's base salary will be reduced. I am not worried.
