What are the packages like at Enbidge? I know TransCanada gives 1 month pay per years worked.

For employees in Ontario they should be paying three to four weeks per year of service. If they are offering less seek legal counsel and find out if the shortfall will offset the legal costs for you. There are many precedents set in the courts on severance requirements in Ontario. Payments should include payment in lieu of notice, severance plus common law amounts that have been set in the courts which should increase if you are older. Take this from a former HR Consultant
Is the IP guy, Fed ?
The severance package information posted on ELink is for Canadian employees who report to the U.S.
Enbridge is offering it's Ontario employees one week for every year of service (cheap b--tards). Before you get called down to the front lobby meeting rooms, find a good labour lawyer and have a discussion with them. Bring in all your records regarding STIP, merit, performance and base pay. Severance should be calculated on Total Target Compensation not just base. They want to finish off the year looking good and start next year by looking even better.
Search on Elink for "Severance Pay Plan." It is dated 8/28/2018.
The generous Spectra packages are long gone.
Couldn’t find the policy on ELink. Is it hidden somewhere or am I just searching for the wrong terms? I believe there was a specific severance package agreed to at the time of the Spectra merger and that info was more readily available. That deal has since expired though.
For us that have been terminated already, we don't have access to elink. Can someone post the new policy. I'd like to know where I stand please.
Hahaha, I told you guys IPLE guy is a comedic genius.
American cheese? Which really isn’t cheese? Or Canadian dairy (good luck with NAFTA) cheddar?
BTW what’s oil trading at these days?
Unfortunately this is a topic that nobody from Infrastructure Planning has contribute to, as Enbridge would be essentially shooting themselves in the foot by voluntarily letting anyone go from their core group of pipeline system experts. From my dealings with colleagues however, a package ranging from 2 weeks to 1 month per year of service appears to fall with the realm of expectations. I am unable to confirm though, as being a part of the most critical group in contributing to the company's operations and revenue generating decisions, layoffs aren't even a thing for us. The sheer cost of losing even one of the company's systems operations experts would eclipse any type of reduction savings even the most liberal. Most other groups at Enbridge are still valuable, but not as critical to profit as Infrastructure Planning. I would compare other Enbridge groups to the intimate act of human connection between a man and a woman. It's good to have but it isn't critical and you can let it go and replace it some other time. Sure S** is great, but have you ever had garlic bread? And Infrastructure Planning is like garlic bread..with cheese.
The new US package is not good. I will definitley consult a lawyer.
My package was fair and reasonable. Not awful. Not amazing. Consult a lawyer before you sign.
They know how to give you enough so it's not worth your time to pursue it further.
1 month per year is pretty generous. It far exceeds the minimum required under labour law.
Enbridge is risk averse. They will pay a lot to simply not end up in court. Talk to a lawyer before agreeing to the offer. You may be able to extract a bit more value out of the termination.
But don’t let it get to court. You may easily end up in front of a judge who looks unkindly on unreasonable greed. It’s a coin toss at that point.
I got one month per year plus a couple of months. I doubt they'll continue being so generous.
There’s a policy on ELink. I think it’s new this year so check it out.
