Restructuring 2018/2019

We are being told we are not laying off, but restructuring certain departments. When we are not busy, we don’t need our Safari guides (Peope that greet guests with microphones giving park info) when we’re slow. Plus it’s only a BG thing.

Couple buzzwords to look for:

Restructure=lay-off

Cost saving opportunities=lay-off

Align with other parks=lay-off

to whoever is insisting on calling this a "restructure" : This is an example of the Company GASLIGHTING (look up the meaning) its employees. They use key words and phrases to make things sound different than they really are. Its really insidious at this point.

Hourly leadership in SeaWorld should be especially watchful. I hear they were talking about many more hourly leadership layoffs. They will do it slowly and the last planned cuts for hourly leadership will end in January. They have 2 months of mini deparment specific layoffs.

This time, they are just letting go of hourly leaders without severance packages. I wonder what park will be next Monday? Different parks, different days.

Not news. We have these guides at BGT, though they are not called Safari Guides, I forget the exact name. The guides are part of Entertainment, and are already seasonal positions.

If I was laid off why should I call it 'restructure'. I was litteraly told that the company is restructuring and you are being laid off, so both are true: restructure with layoffs.

Now, given that I am departing, I really do not care about the restructure part as I am gone and it has no impact on me. Therefore, for me it's a layoff and a layoff only...

People lost their jobs. It's a layoff no matter how you twist it to make it sound more business friendly.

Again, it’s called a restructure. It was mentioned we should not call it a layoffs as they are re-assigning jobs to better fulfill the company needs.
