Gregoire was hired as he successfully sold Taleo to Oracle. Why else would you bring on a Silicon Valley guy that knows little to nothing about enterprise software?
Mike tried selling to private equity last year and it failed. Who knows what other deals might have failed in secret. He was hired to sell the company from the start always look at history of what they do like PeopleSoft and now AVGO.
CA was a good company who’s time had run it’s course. The business became stale and stagnant with no sign of returning to a relevant SW vendor.
Time for something new, time to move on.
