Thread regarding IBM layoffs

The possible consequences of the RedHat purchase

Now that IBM sank 34 billion into Red Hat , you can bet massive layoffs in service. Also when Lenovo pulled out ,this took about 70 percent of the business volumes.

Management will also be hit heavily, low hanging expensive fruit that is prime for picking. Most of the people left are managers and high end staff. The managers have no clue how to run things since many of the worker bees are gone , and IBM wonders why they are not making money. Clueless.

Hope that the original poster ( @VZzqzzM-4lyn), but there is indeed a strong possibility that thigs could pan out like this.

I'm not really sure how anyone thinks Red Hat will allow IBM to compete with Amazon and Microsoft?

Amamzon and MS have very well built and respected cloud computing businesses, IBM simply does not. How is RedHat going to change that?

Services is run so top heavy that layoffs are a must.

The best case scenario for anyone working in services is a sell off.
