In California isn't there a rule that when you get laid off you get 2 months severance? Plus 2 weeks per year of service? I am not given the 2 months. I hear people in New York get 3 months!

Agreed, take the money and keep it moving!
CA was your job, not your life.
...or was it?
Attorneys to review an 89 page document? Ha.
Broadcom and before them CA are experts in this. So what if you find something wrong - you cant afford to sue them....
Get a reality check.. You were fired - and most likely because Broadcom will never have any interest in your skills etc. You will NEVER get your job back at CA or Broadcom - so take the money and run... Honestly its for the best..
Remember the five stages of layoff grief...
Denial
Anger
Barganing
Depression
Acceptance
The faster anyone gets to the last part - the better....
The best thing to do is have a Labor Lawyer review your severances make sure it’s correct.
New York gets NY WARN which is 90 days of regular paychecks and benefits, the 90 days is paid using your severance but you get benefits and job search help/coaching/resume help. After the 90 days you get the remainder of your severance.
