Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Stay letter content

For those wondering how a stay letter looks like, here's a what somebody ( @W10AUMB-vam ) pasted from the content of the PDF in another thread:

We are pleased to welcome you to Broadcom! As you know, Broadcom acquired CA, Inc. in a transaction that was

completed on November 5, 2018.

In the days ahead you will be receiving updates from IT, Payroll, Workplace Services, and other functions via email.

Please look for these updates, which will contain important information to help you with the integration.

In mid-December you will receive a personalized Welcome Letter that will detail your compensation components, title,

and reporting structure as an employee of Broadcom.

We are happy to have you part of the organization and look forward to the year ahead!

That's a "stay" letter or I'll eat my hat.

I still haven't gotten anything beyond the original stay letter in the OP. I think it's different for non US locations but in the US that's a stay letter for sure.

As others said, this is not the stay letter. It is a standard email everyone in the UK received, and we were already informed about the numbers (STAY/TERM/TRANSITION) and maybe a third will stay, if that.

Its not a stay letter, just a standart mail. I also got this mail this morning (germany) and got my termination a couple of hours later. So it is NOT a stay letter. You will have a call with your manager if you stay and with HR for the rest.

That is indeed the stay letter for all of NA, and I believe for most LATAM countries as well. EMEA jurisdictions have "consultation" laws for layoffs, hence the extra clause.

Its not BS. I am in the US, and got that same 'stay' letter. It's straightforward and not very informative.

I am the original poster (from the other thread not this one) and it is not BS. The US letter did not contain that additional content. Must be EMEA specific.

I call BS. A vital part is missing:

Additional consultation will commence in all locations with regards to possible changes that are proposed. We will endeavor to keep communications regular and informative so that your questions are answered, and as decisions are made and can be confirmed they will be sent in writing to you. Your patience whilst we work through this process is appreciated as we understand everyone is keen to understand what the acquisition will mean for them personally.

This went to ALL EMEA employees, also to the ones who got layed off today.
