Hello Islandia Friends:

Can someone please confirm here when they receive their notices and the WARN Act is in place for Islandia? I am a WFH person that reports to someone in Islandia. I know everyone in Islandia thinks no one is being let go and everyone is being retained but I am almost sure that is not accurate. I don’t know if my email firing will detail if I am getting WARN so just want to make sure I know what is happening. I would’ve asked this question if Yammer still existed. It is almost over and good luck to all that remain and leave, it appears we both will need it.

Can someone in islandia copy/paste the email they got?

WARN means (for NY State) that you will receive regular paychecks and benefits for the 90-day period. BCOM is not requiring us (at least me) to come into the office during the 90-day period. At the end of the WARN period, employees with more than 6 years of service (thus 14+ greater weeks of severance) will receive the remainder of their severance (assuming they return the severance agreement).

To put it another way, the first 90 days/WARN (about 13 weeks) will be deducted from the total number of weeks of severance you're owed.

WARN has no impact on severance. What it does mean is a significant amount of layoffs.

anyone with a WARN will you still receive a severance package?

So I guess all the posts about Islandia being so critical and no one being laid off are fake news?

I am an Islandia employee. I received my e-mail about 6am ET this morning. It says that WARN is being triggered. My termination date will be February 8, 2019.
