I must admit, I found Yammer to be both helpful and annoying during the last 5 months. For me it was the only place where I could get credible information. Annoying because some of my peers focused on all the wrong things. I see now many people are posting questions on this site that were answered repeatedly on Yammer. Say what you want about Yammer, but now we have no information and I am not impressed with what I see happening. Priorities like getting the new logo on our phones was more important than getting our offer letters out? Also, killing Yammer on Day 1? Plus a plethora of other Day 1 things that happened and were planned well in advance. CA had its ups and downs and I’m sure life will be similar with AVGO, but what I see so far I am not impressed with. Formatting of Octane’s email shows very simply a lack of attention to any detail, but to be fair to him, I’d rather here from him than any other CEO that spent time collecting money and not working. That will be different with Octane. He works and delivers.

Understand that octane sending mail from Gmail and you are reading it in your outlook. Its a compatibility issue that will settle down after Nov 16th, bcoz you are also going to use Gmail from then onwards. Don't think it shows lack of attention. I agree that octane might not be having "principal communations" kinda titles in his org, but he can communicate what he wanys to.
Taking out the communication channel that all CA staff could use but CA had no control of is smart when you think of the news that will hit over the next couple of days.
Always a devils advocate. I understood where the op was coming from. When the letters was moved to be after the purchase it was set for couple days after close. November 7 date was set assuming the deal closes on the 5. Gdl posted this exactly. @-xla, You were probably the one asking about keeping your laptop or child day care closing.
It wasn’t 100% sure if the transaction would close early or late on the 5th so safer to target the 7th for offer letters. Plus if they said the 7th and then did the 5th I’m sure others would complain. Better stick to the original plan.
