Fairwell my friend

He few too close to the sun and got let go.

I am saddened he was a okay in my books.

Lets watch the use of affirmative action to set up of the new Directors level.

I thought it looked decently even. UG folks in some pretty important positions too.

That should not be a surprise. Enbridge bought Union. Not the other way around nor was it a merger.

The buying Company usually maintains the majority of positions in mall business acquisitions.

Gossip suggests offers have been made to the directors who are staying - that's been happening all week, and possibly last week too... it's just taking some time since there are a lot of moving pieces including relocations. Directors not staying are now being looped in, with tomorrow being the big drama. Once it's done they'll need to announce it as soon as possible since the new reporting structure is effective immediately and people will quickly figure out what happened anyway.

...that's the word on the street anyway. Expect a sad, sh--ty day.

Who was let go? Farewell friend? Someone big? I assume UG will hear about Directors this week?

Upcoming performance reviews are not a barrier. Recall layoffs at GD in Oct 2016 shortly before reviews were due...the leaders assigned new direct reports just had to do their best in the circumstances by canvassing internal clients etc...

Re: performance reviews, when they laid off people in Major Projects last week, they laid off people leaders too. As part of the related FAQ on ELink, there's an explanation and flow chart (lol) explaining who will complete your review if your people leader was cut or you're now reporting to a different person, etc. I would assume they'll do the same thing. Or, maybe some of directors that get cut will remain for a short period of time after the announcement to help with the transition, similar to VPs. I have no idea. But, I definitely don't think the performance review stuff is a major barrier... the bigger barrier is the workday/sap freeze, and they'll want to get these org changes finished well ahead of that.

Director announcement will be tomorrow. One today because they were off the rest of the week. For whoever asked if it was true. Yes it is.

I don't believe there will be layoffs at the director level at UG tomorrow. Who will approve all the performance evals which have to be completed before Nov. 13?

Not much of this will be fair. If it looks Union heavy just remember GD already had mass layoffs (and demotions) of high performers at the director, manager and supervisor level in 2016.
