"Check the Box" in Salesforce has been going on since the beginning of using it. (that is for the reps who actually use it daily)
The key here is the management - directors instructing on how to make things look like they are real when they are not.

The NYC tri state market is once again tanking in numbers and ranking. MA and the rest of New England isn’t far behind in lacking sales. The NYC DSM is known for telling his sales teams to “check the box” concerning Salesforce initiatives and other upper management directives in an effort to falsely show things are getting done. As evident from the numbers, it’s not. Time to go!
Directors and managers are really busy at ducking and hiding. This company desperately needs to purge these fools and get new blood.
