Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Contact your local newspaper or politician

There is a chance Broadcom will look to screw you out of your severance or stock post transition. Rumors swirls of Broadcom bypassing US WARN and creating a holding company for transition employees to cut costs. Broadcom has many creative ways to get rid of you without severance.

Contact your local politician and newspaper to let them know what is planned. They probably won’t help but they might let Broadcom know someone is watching.

P. S. If you have a lot of stock or severance volunteer for a Day 1 release. That is what nearly every EVP and SVP has done and they have way more information than the rest of us.

Publicizing something before it happens without any evidence just makes you look like a nut.

So I’m not sure what the legality would be. If they decided not to pay severance after three months - would that be illegal and what law would be broken? It might open them to a civil lawsuit only assuming enough people banded together for a class action lawsuit. Spinning staff off to Wipro would allow them to invalidate any prior promises between CA and Broadcom

While it’s not clear if it’s illegal, it’s definitely unethical and immoral just like the actions of BikeBoy. The sooner This nuclear bomb strategy gets p publicized, the better

I personally don’t mind you being rude,@phz, but not so sure about site admins. Personal insults are not allowed here, and if site admins find you violated one of their rules, they nuke your post regardless how informative it was and block you from posting any further.

"That would be illegal" referred to the potential screwing by Broadcom, not contacting a politician or newspaper. mo--n.

Contacting a politician or newspaper is not illegal. But you should do this only when you have some serious evidence about wrongdoings. I don't think it's a good idea to do this "just for the case".

That would be illegal. From everything we've seen from their other acquisitions, they are pretty honest with payouts.
