Thinking about applying to a job at GitHub, but they were acquired by Microsoft and I don't see a separate forum for Git. I know of some friends that would do the same in different areas. We don't know how Microsoft handles acquisitions (strip them to the bone or leave them as is for a while?) so curious about your thoughts. The jobs we have been looking at are R&D specifically development, tech writing, product management, and engineering management (all remote). Would any of these have long-term potential?

It'll take forever to integrate Git... I think they will see some changes probably 18 months from now.
In the recent months I can see a switch to publish the new documentation of SCCM to GitHub. The docs are more detailed compared to docs@microsoft.com. Maybe finally some recognized the need of better documentation?
Don't know much about Git but what I've heard is that they have not integrated with the rest of us in any significant way (e.g., HR benefits have been set up but they are still hiring independently etc.)
