Does GE Leadership understand the F-Back effect?

Any GE recovery will not start until employee morale is restored and the hardworking employees are respected. When will leadership and HR figure this out? Retirement 401K destroyed with GE stock freefall. No raises or minimal compensation over the last 5 years that does not even keep up with inflation and dramatic increases in benefit costs that they should be ashamed of to even roll out. Over $5k for health benefits to have a $5k deductible? Really?

HR must have studies on how workforce morale ties in with production and the success of a business. They must not care.

This constant nickle & diming of the workforce will cost the company tenfold in lack of motivation alone. Who is going to go above and beyond or put in extra effort for a company that goes out of their way to "F" the employees? The cost to the company could be a hundredfold or more depending on the employee F- Back effect.

Be thankful you have such a good job you wouldn't trade it for anything else available to you.

Not everyone looked at the rates when they were announced. But they will notice them in the enrollment system!

"Wait until you see how much more you'll have to pay for the health plan next year. Annual enrollment is just days away, and we will all get yet another kick in the face."

Rates have already been released to employees. Depending on plan and your salary the rates have jumped 10-15% from last year. Many of us SP bands in Power have had 2 raises in 6 yrs and those were in the 2% range. GE is teaching us how to live on a fixed income.

If I was earlier in my career, would be aggressively looking.

When business improves, morale will improve. If you don't want to wait that long, then leave. Couldn't hurt since take home pay is going backwards every year.

This has nothing to do with the things you care about. Everything could be perfect inside GE and power would still be going out of business. No one wants to fire GTs anymore. Sorry.

If anything the OP is saying was actually true, then the D-Rates would be the happiest bunch of a-holes in the world! Instead they act like nobody is getting it worse than they are!! Where was all the going above and beyond during all the years past? All I'm hearing is give us what we want or we won't work. News flash!!! You've never worked and now there is no work!! This has all become unsustainable. The only way to fix it is to shut it all down, clean house and start over. The culture that built GE a long time ago, has been long gone for decades. Now GE is just full of people with huge egos riding coattails.

You 2nd tier are clueless. What you don’t understand is that this has happened across all of GE, not just some union shops. Basically upper management came in and said we are pulling work out or not adding new product unless you give 2 tier. Places that said no like Erie get shut down or work transferred away. Go on strike and oppose you get shut down or work transferred. Believe me its not the hourly. Lay blame where it is due on the fat cats at the top collecting millions. Where do you think they got the money to give themselves big raises and bonuses? They deserve it you know for running the company into the ground.

How about the morale with what the Union agreed to with a two tier pay system? No pension for anyone in the five years you mentioned and we should give a hoot about what happens to you ? I’d bet you’re a D rate on the verge of having to meet the “real world”? God forbid I get called back- I may run for Office to oppose the Ivory Tower on Broadway !!
