What's Reboot?

Is Reboot a lead generator for DeVry? Sounds like a big scam against veterans.

Community college may be cheaper, but I think (and this can vary) that a lot of CCs are actually interested in education quality, whereas DeVry is concerned with dollars and "persistence."

I can say from experience that suggesting that a student explore other schools is problematic. A few years ago, I met with a prospective student who was asking about the programs in my department, and we determined together that DeVry's offerings did not fit her long-term career goals. I suggested some other schools in the area with programs that are better aligned with her needs.

The next day, I was called into my boss' office, who told me that a furious admissions rep gave him an earful about how I am sabotaging the organization and driving away students. When I told my boss the whole story, he agreed that I did the right thing in the situation, but our admissions reps rarely care about doing the right thing.

@VtjG4Fv-5pgu and @VtjG4Fv-5gzo, so that's the quality of veterans you get? People just using their GI Bill (something they earned) to pay the rent? Aren't you grateful that they chose DeVry instead of another subprime school? Have you thought about telling them to go to a community college so that they don't waste so much money?

There are so many students that enroll in class, then never submit a single assignment. They tend to be military students. Apparently, they get some kind of housing allowance for being enrolled. They just enroll in courses to get the cash, not to get the education. Presumably when they fail out of one school, they just repeat the scam at another school.

....are there to assist those looking to return to school or complete their education but ...

Is that why they call each one 50 times, over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over

Those complaints are not coming from the workshop...they are coming from the countless VA student recieving 100% and then want federal aid TO LIVE OFF AND DRIVE 2018 DODGE CHARGERS...Why dosent the VA strict external benefits..so 1 federal benefit is being used....VA or Federal Aid..

@VtjG4Fv-2kzn, what do you mean by "qualified" and "interested"?

If this were so, why does DeVry have the highest percentage of GI Bill complaints?

Also, why has DeVry had so many complaints made to ED?

Just as an fyI...DeVry is extremely strict on how leads are generated and the focus is on qualified, interested individuals. There are even stricter requirements when Veterans or military is involved. I think it’s important to do your research from people currently working at DeVry regarding lead generating before assuming the workshop is simply for lead generation. There are numerous occasions when we conduct workshops and/or host groups that no leads are generated simply because no one is interested. And that’s ok. We are there to assist those looking to return to school or complete their education but generating leads is never our sole purpose or intention. The purpose is to bring a service, provide information, expose individuals to our college and be part of the community.
