First off, Intel isnt the one that put out this speculation (at least not officially).... It was a no name analyst firm.. I suspect that firm is a shell company for a hedge find that either heavily went long on Intel or heavily went short on AMD well before....
Second, the speculation wasnt 10nm would be available in 6 weeks... The speculation was that Intel was able to move up 10 ahead by 6 weeks, from the quoted date that firm came up with June 2019 to 4-6weeks earlier... First off, where did June 2019 come from? Not intel...but even if so, moving up 10nm by roughly one month is nothing.
This clearly was a way for some entity, read hedge fund, to either unload a bunch of Intel shares on that nice too day pop, or short the heck out of AMD in what was an already overheated AMD stock (I like the company, but sold part at $32 and still holding on the rest at least to the ear ings report at the end of the month)..
It's a non event... We will see how things really are when AMD announcers earnings on 10/23...
