In a War Between China/US - What Side Broadcom?

As the trade war with China heats up and the state of humanity becomes more perilous it seems likely the US and China could end up in a new cold war, or even a hot one.

In war between China and the US (trade or otherwise) which side would Broadcom land on? Anyone familiar with Broadcom and Hock Tan have any thoughts?

That is some grade A BS you are spewing over there. You know why Hock can get finance for M&A? Look around and see all the tech M&A, take a look and see the % of them turning out well. Now , check out what Hock has done. If you don't understand it, then you don't, but the money guys do.

Now, check again and see why the Broadcom founder (Henry Samueli) is willing to sell and also willing to STICK around as a CTO. In the tech world where ego are plenty, you only team up with winners like yourself.

Chinese company? American company? Tell me the percentage of employee , revenue, stock holder, board members of broadcom that are american. That's your homework.

What an ignorant person.

Broadcom specializes in programmable silicon. Could their chips contain the programmable silicon equivalent of the Chinese microchip on Supermicro boards that Bloomberg is reporting about?

Is this really question? Broadcom is Chinese company, no matter where it is legally located.

  1. Do you really think that 16 bn USD in revenue company would be able to collect 100 bn USD for hostile take-over of US company w/o (in)direct support from China?

  2. Is it coincidence that chip maker is aiming in to mainframe business? There are literally zero synergies. But they will gain an access to important piece of hardware of TOP companies in US. As customer of CA I would personally never ever buy anything again from CA because who knows what kind of backdoors might be implemented in to my systems through purchased mainframe software.

Hock has already confirmed that he is willing to give every drop of his blood to ensure that the east stays red.

Apparently, his take on it is that if a gaggle of Vietnamese farmers can send Uncle Sam home with a bloody nose, the combined might of CA, Broadcom and the Chinese state can decapitate the upstart eagle once and for all (Hock's words). Confirmed by a Senior VP.

Why does Broadcom want the Mainframe business so bad? Is it so it can install back door access to the US enterprise data for the Chinese?

Wasn’t the Qualcomm deal blocked by the POTUS due to Broadcom stealing US intellectual property and having a bigger footprint in the US? I would imagine Broadcom is with the Chinese.
