Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

I just can't believe this sh--

Colleagues,

October 1-5 is recognized as "Customer Service Appreciation Week," celebrating those frontline representatives and the importance of commitment to customer satisfaction. DCEH would like to take this opportunity to thank all The Art Institutes, Argosy University, and South University faculty and staff who help our students on their journey to making their professional dreams a reality by recognizing "Student Service Appreciation Week."

To commemorate this occasion, be on the lookout for a special delivery of customized colored pencils to your office/location early in the week to take a break and spark your creativity. We will be sending coloring sheets out daily during the week. Additionally, join us by participating in our themed apparel spirit days nationwide:

  • Tuesday - Sports

  • Wednesday - Pink

  • Thursday - Throwback Thursday

  • Friday - Campus Pride

Submit a photo showcasing your participation (individual or group) in one of the designated spirit days or a completed color sheet for a chance to be featured on the DCEH Intranet Homepage. Please email submissions to kdchandler@dcedh.org

We look forward to celebrating with you!

Sincerely,

John Crowley

COO

Dream Center Education Holdings

Silly me. I thought we had students, not customers.

How about showing them appreciation by having some ETHICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are thoughtfully preparing employees for the former homeless brain damaged d--g addicts soon to flood the learning centers. Be grateful for the wisdom of upper management

This is just too funny. Colored pencils? Coloring books? Students would react much better to food, but they are too stupid and poor to understand that. Even a junior high student would think this is lame

The email I received from Shelley Gardner, Chief Student Services Officer, was titled "Student Service Appreciation Week - Day 2"

Apparently, DCEH is showing appreciation to students by eliminating the staff and faculty who provide those services.

You're welcome!

How utterly tone-deaf

Online didn't get that email -- darn - I love colored pencils

btw - students are customers - they pay your salary - they pay for this college - they ARE customers

The email was not sent to faculty or staff at Philadelphia. I guess because we are closing there is no need to appreciate us or our students.

I know where they can place their coloring sheet and pencils ... where the sun don’t shine!!! Complete joke of a company. I have been dealing with the fallout of closing campuses and students coming online for months and you give us a freaking pdf to print out and color. So we are all preschoolers?!?! The COO is clearly on hard narcotics.

John Crowley must have learned this in one of those nano credentials courses. Coloring 101.

This is the COO of DCEH? Oh my gosh.

Soooo to recap:

  • lay off full time faculty a few days before the start

  • create total chaos with schedules

-upset students and staff alike as our coworkers and their mentors for YEARS are gone

  • upend accreditation standards

  • demonstrate a complete and utter disregard for the morale of employees and students alike by providing NO information or plan, only the constant dread of future layoffs or school closures

-give us COLORING BOOKS

FU FU FU
