Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Living the American Dream

Carlos Rodriguez is proud of his immigrant roots and the story of how his parents fled Cuba in the 1960s and settled in Miami, Florida. Rodriguez was three-years-old back then, but he worked hard and was the first member of his family to go to college (Harvard University, no less). He is now running one of the largest companies on the Fortune 500. He is the CEO of ADP (ADP, -0.03%), a human resources and payroll services company with $12 billion in annual revenues.

“I am definitely a living example of the American Dream,” says Rodriguez.

He tells Fortune’s Susie Gharib that he learned a lot from watching how his parents struggled to make a living in the United States. He says those lessons guide him even today as he presides over ADP and its 55,000 employees.

Jan- the CFO- gave his resignation sometime around June- but he is actually still here. In a finance town hall he said that Carlos asked him to stay until they found a replacement for him...and Jan joked that Carlos is not rushing on that so he jokes he could be here for a long while....

Ummmmm. Could be -Translation— I gave my resignation and Carlos reminded me that if I leave a new CFO will figure out how fudged the books are and the EXCOM team will all be jailed for fraud. Every.single.thing that management on up to Carlos does around ADP has an alteria motive oor is suspicious.

What I heard was that Jan's conscience got to him for being a part of those massive unneeded layoffs and he just left ADP because he couldn't take it anymore.

Who would have ever known that part of living the American dream was to layoff thousands of employees because they earn to much money. He is just another greedy CEO killing other people’s dreams of trying earn a decent living.

That article on Carlos must be several years old. Based on monthly layoffs for the last several years the current count of employees with the company is no longer 55,000.

The OP's last paragraph does explain Carlos Rodriguez's layoffs and what motivates him. He watched how his parents struggled to make a living in the United States. Those lessons did guide him in presiding over ADP and its employees. He just wants to give his employees the gift that his parents had, to lay them off and watch them as they struggle to make a living just like his parents did. He is just sharing this, and people are mad at him? They just can't see a genius at work.

Oh, but he cut out ADP's knowledge base by laying so many people off. Oops! Shhhhh! Let's just quietly sweep this under the rug. Nothing to see here folks!

Why is Carlos’ bio or excerpt of a Forbes article on a layoff site? Positive poster trying so hard! Carlos makes 10 million a year between salary, bonus and stock options.... public record- look it up! Yes he is living the American Dream- not taking that away from him- but don’t earn that and give us a .2% tax merit increase. I’d rather have the “jelly of the month club”. (Ref:national lampoon Christmas Vacation). It is worth more!

I'm glad that Carlos Rodriguez is living the American Dream. Too bad he is preventing others from enjoying it as well. Oh well, profits over people as usual.

I wonder why the original poster put this on this layoff site and embarrassed themselves? Oh, probably an ADP shill did this to try to change the focus of the information on this site. Attempted sabotage.

Sorry, but you made a dumb move. Rodriguez is not, how shall I say it politely, not the most popular person on this site. By posting this, you are just showing how angry ADP is at the postings of people who have been laid off by this company and wants to stop these postings and the truth from getting out.
