Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

I'm out of here

I'm tired of waiting to be laid off. I have a job interview tomorrow and if everything turns out the way I hope it will, than it's going to be goodbye CA, goodbye Broadcom. Even if it doesn't, I'll keep searching.

I think this whole thing was handled in the worse possible way causing people unnecessary stress and anxiety. I'm done being a victim of their apathy.

@Vq7kicn-1wcd Believe what you want, but mainframe skills aren't exactly the hottest thing in the market.

and find new job

Hope your skills are more than just mainframe or outdated backoffice work. Most people at CA have grown complacent and simply aren't competative in the job market.

Yeah, I've heard of many people being told they are staying. No notification or asking if you want to stay seems to equal "see ya".

"...a victim of their apathy". No, it's not apathy, no. You are a victim of their indifference and negligence towards employees. In reality, they are quite active in pursuing their own selfish goal, which is to cash out with maximum profit for themselves. Their intention became clear at least one year ago, when news came up about negotiations regarding CA selloff to a private investor. CA stock price jumped from about 32 to 36. A few weeks later that deal failed, because private investor failed to arrange financing, and stock price went back to 32. You should have been alerted back then. And, if nothing held you back in CA, like severance, you could have started looking for a new job long time ago. At least in part, you should blame yourself for the apathy.

you guys have to wait for severance :)

If you have still no communication from your management then you are already gone, just matter of days

Same here. I am going away as well. It is better than the uncertainty.
