Word is some people (GM’s and SVP’s) have already been given letters on their fate. GD says the letters will be given close to the close (end of Oct). Anyone else know more details?

My manager (I'm an IC in sales) already told me that he will not have a job in Broadcom. Same for his manager and the one above. It seems they are cleaning out most of the management levels.
So most of them I assume already by now but cannot share any details with their teams to keep the people calm till beginning of NOV. I would prefer and earlier update. The actual situation is just stupid.
I can confirm this but we're relatively small dept. so it was easy and quick decision on Broadcom’s side (btw. all my managers will be gone on day 1, few people go in to the transition and very small number (less than 5% will get job in Broadcom – poor guys ;))
Waiting for severance letter and close date, then on to a new adventure. October 20 right around the corner.
Yea my severance is fat. Over 40 weeks plus our unvested RSU will vest if you are let go. You will also get a prorated payout of success plan if you have one. I can easily find a job so I’m hoping for this small lottery ticket. The unfortunate part is the shy woman down the hall with not the strongest skill set, doesn’t interview well , living paycheck to paycheck supporting two kids by herself and only 3 years with company will probably be let go meanwhile I’m still stuck
Customers lose only when engineers that work with them are gone. Loss of managers, VPs, sales, etc. is irrelevant for customers. In the long run they may even benefit, due to reorganization leading to improved service.
Count me as one who will be leaving if they don't fire me. I am very tired of working for a sh-- company that is so poorly run we have layoffs twice a year. Every month at CA brings new uncertainty and new BS changes because there is no growth. I look forward to working at a company on its way up instead of on its way out. I'm only hanging on for a chance at severance.
Lol i'm safe too I think :( too bad. I'm eligible for enough severance to practically pay off my mortgage
Your safe ??? Me too :( just my luck I want Broadcom to pink slip me. It seems many that are safe are not happy and planning to quit shortly after anyway. Customers lose the most.
My manager keeps saying my team is very likely safe. :(
I heard that 40/50 SVP's know already they are out.
Few Vp's decided to return to Director title to keep their jobs.
My manager has been demoted to IC
I can confirm that some have but not sure about all of them. Seems like they are just working their way down the org chart.
