Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

South University (Why a confidence game? Here's why.)

The Official SU document cited below has been used and still may be in use today to deceive and mislead any potential Nurse Practitioner Graduate Student regarding the Most Important aspect of the SU program which is to obtain Preceptorships for Clinical Rotations.

The sad reality of this stealthy situation is that EDMC and now DCEH requires the NP student to obtain their own training (without telling them from the start), distinct from the school, which very often constrains them to pay thousands of dollars to each of several Preceptors out of pocket if they can find one at all.

The school does not and has not set up networks with Private Physicians and Nurse Practitioners for training (as many reputatable schools do) nor is any part of the Graduate Student's steep tuition used to facillitate this training. Due to this deception, NP Graduate Students, after having been led to believe otherwise, find out too late and towards the final leg of the program when Preceptorships are required that the market for Preceptors is saturated at any price forcing the candidate to drop out of the ill conceived program only to lose tens of thousands of dollars and years of their lives for not being told the truth at the start of the program.

The directors of the Graduate NP program at SU know of this problem but still they work to perpetuate the falsehood.

The students that are lied to and misled are working RNs who have already obtained their BSN degrees and therefore have a proven track record in academia. The argument that due diligence should have been done prior to enrolling is weak in comparison to the bold faced lies and partial truths one's so-called paid instructor colleagues via SU tell aspiring NP Graduate Students.

So there are lots of very angry folks out there and no wonder there's a lot of enmity towards SU in the Medical and Nursing communities wherever they prowl. SU is single handedly destroying the profession that takes care of us all when it counts. SU was and is a quick buck intitution plain and simple with zero investiment toward the futue. It's No wonder they've been called nothing more than an eloborate confidence game and with that said continues to show their true colors that do not go unnoticed by the ethical opinion leaders in nursing advising the next generation.

Here's what I mean.

To wit: *( word/words inserted for clarity)

"The Clinical Coordinator will contact the appropriate individuals at the (hypothetical, student identified) site to establish the affiliation agreements." (this statement is a material lie)

(Below find the document in its entirety)

MSN ‐ Adult Health Nurse Practitioner Program

Clinical Practicum Plan for Preceptor and Agency*

Instructions: The Clinical Practicum Plan provides tentative sites and preceptors (if known) that the student may use for future *(not true)

practicum courses. It is NOT a contract between the student, university, preceptor and practicum site. Rather, the sites and

preceptors listed below provide a starting point for a practicum experience for the student. The Clinical Coordinator, student and

potential facility work collaboratively, adhering to the facilities’ appropriate policies and procedures to establish a student practicum

experience. Once the student completes and submits the Clinical Practicum Plan form as part of their admission packet, the Clinical

Coordinator will contact the appropriate individuals at the site to establish the affiliation agreement OR will follow instructions *(this is not done and a lie)

provided by the practicum facility according to their respective processes. The South University Clinical Coordinator for the Adult

Health Nurse Practitioner Program is: Susan ____ , PhD, RN, FNP‐BC, ACNS‐BC, CNE and is no longer affiliated with SU.

Thank you, I think. But make "worse" has been the SU business plan for years. This is just another documented example of "worse." Unfortunately I can still hear McCrook asking anyone misguided enough to advocate for a student, "So what are your allegations?" That's when the pursuit of a professional education was instantly relagated to the arena of the courtroom. So despite SU's boldfaced, published material lies there for all to see, McCrook cynically understood how the school had rigged the non-eventuality of that justice seeking encounter.

That kind of malice aforethought alone has no room anywhere but was/is very pro forma in identifying the methods of the Confidence game called South University.

Is this McCrook’s revenge? It’s not like these dirty little secrets are going to make SU look any worse anymore— you did that well enough on your own.
