I’ve been hearing rumors about associates being laid off at the Elk Grove Location In Illinois. There are also rumors that they are fixing the building to sell. I hear this is happening because the cost of the building is too high and our salaries are too high. Upper management of course says it isnt true but I’m finding this hard to believe. Does anyone have any insight?

Exactly about upgrades to highest bidder. So freaking true...excellent point!! If you own a building, you fix it up before selling and paint an image to the existing tenants that "hey, we are sprucing things up for YOU."
No one sells a house to the highest bidder WITHOUT making upgrades. IJS...Eyes Wide Open.
While I do not have any specific info on this, I think it might be safe to assume that this location will be closed as it is not one of the low-cost COEs. ADP has made it pretty clear that all non-COE offices would eventually be closed. So if you are not in a COE, watch out. If this is what happens and you are lucky, you may be offered a position in a COE where you will have to move at your expense and if you choose not to take the offer, you will be shown the door. This is what I have seen happen when other non-COE offices were closed.
